The hot rolled wire rod for steel cord produced by QIS adopts the national standard YB/T170.4-2002 and the enterprise internal control standard, with the main grades of C72D2, C82D2, C86D2, C92D2-E. Because of the large drawing deformation and special use performance the steel is required to have fewer contents of S and P, very high requirements to the quantity, variety and shape of inclusions, and accurate rolling tolerance. QIS is capable to provide mass and stable production of C72D2 and C82D2 to meet the customers’ demand. The steel cord products of C72D2 and C82D2 passed the provincial technical evaluation in June, 2008 and its quality has reached the international advanced level. QIS has successfully trial-produced the C92D2-E steel wire rod for steel cord with super high strength and every index reaches the international advanced level and fills up the domestic market margin. At present the monthly production of steel cord with common and high strength has reached above 30,000 tons with good reactions from customers. Application: The steel wire rods for steel cord, such as C72D2, C82D2, C86D2, and C92D2-E etc., are mainly used for the production of steel cord and flose wire.
